Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen broke his leg when his team was defeated by Liverpool in the Premier League, Sunday (29/12/2024).
Jarrod Bowen had to leave the field due to injury in the second half. The match ended in a 5-0 win for Liverpool.
“West Ham United can confirm that Jarrod Bowen suffered a broken leg in the Premier League match against Liverpool,” read a West Ham statement.
Jarrod Bowen was one of West Ham’s mainstay players when the London team experienced a tough first season under manager Julen Lopetegui.
“As always, I tried to keep fighting and playing until I really couldn’t anymore,” Bowen wrote on Instagram.
Meanwhile, his teammate, Michail Antonio, has been allowed to leave hospital to continue treatment. Antonio had a car accident in early December.
The 34-year-old Jamaican striker underwent surgery on his lower leg as a result of the accident.
Antonio was able to speak to his teammates via video call from the hospital. Lopetegui and his colleagues have also visited him.
Management hopes that Jarrod Bowen and Mickail Antonio will recover quickly and be able to play again. “Injuries can happen in football, but I can’t wait to get back to playing. See you again,” said Jarrod Bowen.
