Hyperliquid, a Layer 1 blockchain platform and decentralized perpetual contracts exchange, is preparing for its highly anticipated Genesis Event. On November 12th, the Hyperliquid team reopened the claim window for another 24 hours. The decision came after complaints that many users were unaware of the need to accept the event’s terms and conditions. Others reported that they were unable to participate, even though they had previously used the platform.
Among those affected is a user identified as MisakaTrades on social media. He shared a screenshot of the claim page with the message:
“Your address is not eligible to participate in the Genesis Event due to repeated attempts to access it from a restricted jurisdiction…”

The HYPE airdrop is one of the most anticipated events in the market since the launch of LayerZero. This is because Hyperliquid has become one of the main decentralized exchanges (DEXs) on the market. This volume places Hyperliquid as the tenth largest blockchain in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector.
Meanwhile, the HYPE token is trading at a fully diluted market valuation of $3.8 billion in pre-event trading on the Aevo platform.
Additionally, spot tokens on the Hyperliquid blockchain have shown significant growth in the days leading up to the Genesis Event. PURR, the network’s main spot token, has seen an appreciation of 65% in the last 30 days. As a result, it reached a market capitalization of US$137 million.
The anticipation surrounding the Genesis Event reflects the growing interest in Hyperliquid in the DeFi market. However, challenges related to eligibility can impact participants’ perception of the event and the future of the project.
