Indodax Hacked, Bappebti Asks Crypto Owners Not to Panic

One of Indonesia’s crypto exchange platforms, Indodax, is suspected of being hacked. This information was circulated through social media X Web3 security company, Cyvers Alerts.

On the X Cyvers Alerts account, the company explained that their system had detected several suspicious transactions involving Indodax wallets across various networks.

“The suspicious address has held USD 14.4 million and exchanged the tokens for Ether,” Cyvers Alerts said in a tweet on the X social media account, Wednesday (11/9/2024).

Not only that, Cyvers Alerts also detected more than 150 transactions and a total loss of USD 18.2 million or equivalent to IDR 280.3 billion (assuming an exchange rate of IDR 15,402 per US dollar).

Responding to this, Indodax CEO Oscar Darmawan said that all customer balances, both in rupiah and crypto assets, were not affected.

“We have checked customer balances, both rupiah and crypto assets, and they have not been affected, and trading balances have also not been affected,” Oscar told Todaysgist, Wednesday (11/9/2024).

Oscar added that his party is currently still conducting further investigations, but he ensured that customer funds were safe and not affected.

When asked about the losses, Oscar replied that he would still investigate and would provide further information after the investigation was carried out.
