Injured against Osasuna, Eder Militao will be absent from strengthening Real Madrid until the end of the season

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Real Madrid defender Eder Militao has to be absent until the end of the season because he suffered an injury while appearing against Osasuna, Saturday (9/10/2024).

Real Madrid indeed achieved a landslide victory 4-0 in the match at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. However, Carlo Ancelotti’s team had to make up for these three points due to the injury to the Brazilian defender.

The club based in the Spanish capital confirmed that Eder Militao had suffered another anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury after previously suffering a similar injury to him in the 2023/2024 season.

Eder Militao had to leave the field in the 30th minute of Real Madrid‘s match against Osasuna in Week 13 of the Spanish League.

“After undergoing an examination today by the Real Madrid medical team, Eder Militão was diagnosed with a torn ACL with damage to both meniscus in his right knee. Militão will undergo surgery in the next few days,” said an official statement from the club website on Sunday (10/11/ 2024).

The defender, who usually operates in the right sector, is certain to be absent until the end of the season, with an estimated recovery time of up to nine months.

Apart from losing Eder Militao, Real Madrid also had to make do with the absence of Rodrygo Goes and Lucas Vazquez who were injured in the match.

The absence of these three players adds to the list of injured players at Real Madrid, who previously lost Thibaut Courtois, David Alaba, Aurelien Tchouameni and Dani Carvajal due to injury recovery.

Facing this player crisis, Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, stated that he had no plans to look for new players in the transfer market next January in order to cover the gaps in his team.

“Currently I am not thinking about buying new players in the transfer market, because we still have a number of matches until the Christmas holidays. I will focus on preparing the team with the players currently available,” said the Italian coach.

The injury to Eder Militao and several other players made Ancelotti think hard about finding a replacement in the upcoming match.
