Injured, Lanny/Fadia was eliminated by their own teammate in the initial round

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Indonesian women’s doubles Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti immediately stopped in the first round of the 2024 China Masters after one of them was injured while fighting her partner Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi, Wednesday (20/11/2024).

The world number 93 doubles failed to continue their action because Lanny suffered an injury during the match. The referee stopped the match and deemed Ana/Tiwi the winner.

Ana/Tiwi have finished the first game with a 21-17 win. When they were leading 6-4 in the second game, Fadia suddenly suffered an injury. The referee decided that the match would not continue and Ana/Tiwi were entitled to tickets to the round of 16.

In the second round, Ana/Tiwi will meet the winner between Kokona Ihikawa/Mio Konegawa from Japan and the Malaysian pair, Vivian Woo/Lim Chiew Sien.

According to Fadia, Lanny’s right arm has not been in good condition since returning from Surabaya. “Actually still Okay just now, but it felt like there was a wrong movement during the match so I felt even more uncomfortable. “So we agreed to decide to withdraw,” said Fadia after the 2024 China Masters match.

Fadia also heard that there is a new BWF regulation that you are not allowed to call a match doctor to use it cold spray. “Luckily, we brought our own and sprayed it on the affected area so the pain was reduced,” said Fadia.
