Introducing the Latest Jersey, PSM Makassar Showcases Pa’raga Dance Culture

Makassar, Todaysgist.com – PSM Makassar officially launched their latest jersey to face the highest football competition in the country, with a design highlighting local culture through the Pa’raga Dance.

“The Pa’raga dance with the takraw ball as one of its dance elements, is a representation of togetherness and solidarity. The key to this dance is the dancers’ ability to keep the ball in play,” said PSM Makassar Manager Muhammad Nur Fajrin in his written statement, Friday (9/8/2024).

Nur Fajrin explained that highlighting the Pa’raga Dance on the jersey aims to highlight the cultural richness of South Sulawesi.

“This is a form of respect for local culture and as proof that this area has a lot of football talent,” he added.

In addition, the jersey logo has also undergone a refresh. The Phinisi ship logo, which was previously the main logo of PSM Makassar, is now designed to convey the message that all team members are in one ship ready to face the competition, as the Bugis Makassar sailors are known to be tough in sailing the ocean.

“For the jersey color, there are no significant changes. The jersey home remains maroon, while the jersey away using white,” said Nur Fajrin.

With this new design, PSM Makassar hopes to motivate the team and support them to perform optimally in the upcoming competition season.
