iOS 18 Users Can Now Mirror iPhone Display to MacOS Sequoia
Even though it presents various features in the latest macOS, Apple has secretly said that macOS system computers running on 8GB RAM are no longer adequate for use.
Previously, at the 2024 Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), Apple announced several innovations, ranging from Apple Intelligence to a new OS, one of which was macOS Sequoia.
However, Apple has embedded a new feature in Xcode 16 which is a concern among users, namely Predictive Code Completion.
For your information, Xcode is software to create Apple applications and is widely used by developers.
At WWDC 2024, Apple introduced a new feature for Xcode 16, namely Predictive Code Completion.
Quoting the report Gizchina, Tuesday (25/6/2024), this feature utilizes machine learning models to predict and complete code automatically, thereby increasing developer productivity.
What concerns some users is that Predictive Code Completion requires a minimum of 16GB Unified RAM.
In other words, although Xcode 16 can operate on Mac computers with a capacity of less than 16 GB, this feature cannot be used.
This reason is because the need for AI and machine learning in applications is becoming more complex, so it requires more memory and a stronger NPU so that AI features can run smoothly.
These provisions indicate that a Mac computer with 8GB RAM is no longer sufficient to get the latest features that require heavier performance.
These requirements affect a variety of current Apple computers, including the Mac Mini, iMac, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro, which still use 8 GB of Unified RAM.
