iPhone 13 to iPhone 15 Prices Drop in India, Here’s Why

Todaysgist.com, Jakarta – Apple has lowered iPhone prices in India by 3% to 4%, following the Indian government’s decision to lower import duties on smartphones from 20% to 15%.

Price cuts range from Rs 300 (around Rs 58,000) for models like the iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone 15, to Rs 6,000 (around Rs 1.1 million) for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

This marks the first time Apple has lowered the prices of its latest-generation Pro models in India. The move comes at a time when iPhone demand is slowing in China.

According to research firm Canalys, iPhone shipments in China fell by 6.7% in the quarter ended June 2024, compared to the same period last year.

The slowdown is creating headwinds for Apple in the mainland China market, according to Canalys research analyst Lucas Zhong, as quoted by GizchinaSunday (28/7/2024).

Despite the price drop, iPhones remain expensive in India. For example, the cheapest iPhone 15 Pro model costs $1,550 in India, compared to $999 in the US.
