Iranian Taekwondo Athlete Banned from Competition 4 Years After Doping Proven

– Taekwondo athlete from Iran, Danial Bozorgi, was sentenced to a four-year ban from competing after testing positive for banned substances.

quoted Tehran TimesBozorgi tested positive for Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) in the Grand Slam Champions Serie Wuxi 2022 Championship last April.

In the championship, he won a silver medal in the men’s -68kg category.

Another Iranian taekwondo athlete, Reza Kalhor, was suspended for four years for using the same substance at the same event, the Wuxi 2022 Grand Slam.

Anabolic steroids are synthetic substances that mimic the effects of testosterone, the male sex hormone. This steroid is used to increase muscle size, strength, and performance and is commonly associated with enhancing athletic and bodybuilding performance.
