Ivar Jenner and Rafael Struijk’s Naturalization Process is Coming Soon

– The naturalization process for Ivar Jenner and Rafael Struijk will soon be completed and both of them are ready to strengthen the Indonesian National Team in the international arena. They will follow Shayne Pattynama who has officially become an Indonesian citizen and is ready to strengthen the Indonesian national team squad at international events.

“The naturalization process according to our commitments is being completed one by one. Yesterday we did it on Shayne Pattynama, namely the left-back position. I want to make sure Ivar Janner can be in the center and Rafael is also on the left striker. Thank God, it was signed by the president so it only remains to take the oath and passport later,” said PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir, Saturday (6/5/2023) in Jakarta as quoted by PSSI’s official website.

Erick said, a number of matches for the Indonesian national team were waiting ahead. Besides FIFA Matchday there are also Asian Games, 20226 World Cup qualifiers and AFC Cup.

He ensures that all the best players have the opportunity to strengthen Garuda’s squad, including naturalized players.

“All are open (to play in the Asian Games and the Asian Cup). According to my discussion and coach Shin Tae-yong said at the time that there would be a FIFA Match Day in June. Then in October and November there will be qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup,” said Erick.

According to Erick, PSSI is committed to forming a strong Indonesian National Team filled with the best players, the priority being young players.

“One of my discussions with coach Shin Tae-yong is that we will start to form a long-term team, namely at a young age and also players who can strengthen the national team. Whoever is the best according to our qualifications will try to push so that we have a consistent national team,” said Erick.
