Jakarta Men’s Volleyball Team Advances to Semifinals After Defeating Hosts

Medan, Todaysgist.com – The Jakarta men’s volleyball team advanced to the semifinals after defeating the host North Sumatra (Sumut) in the last eight of the 21st PON Aceh-Sumut 2024.

In the match held at the Sumut Sport Center Indoor Volleyball Hall, Deli Serdang, Monday (16/9/2024) evening, Jakarta ended North Sumatra’s resistance with a score of 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, and 25-22).

Jakarta will face Central Java in the semifinals of the XXI Aceh North Sumatra PON at the Sumut Sport Center Indoor Volleyball GOR, Deli Serdang, Wednesday (18/9/2024) at 14.00 WIB.

In the first set of the quarter-finals between West Java and North Sumatra, a tight match was presented and there was a mutual chase for the score, until the score was tied 7-7 between DKI and North Sumatra.

Slowly Jakarta was able to surpass North Sumatra. In the end, Indra Wahyudi’s squad was able to lock the first set thanks to a victory with a score of 25-16.

Entering the second set of the quarter-finals of PON XXI, a fierce match was presented again. A draw occurred when North Sumatra was able to equalize the score to 13-13.

However, Okky Damar Saputra and his friends ended North Sumatra’s resistance and won the second set with a score of 25-16.

Jakarta again got fierce resistance from North Sumatra in the third set. However, DKI was still too tough for North Sumatra and won 25-22.
