Juventus Officially Brings Midfielder Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta

Jakarta, Todaysgist.com – Juventus have officially signed Dutch national team midfielder Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta.

In a statement released on Thursday (29/8/2024), Juventus stated that Koopmeiners had signed a five-year contract that will run until 30 June 2029.

Koopmeiners will wear the number 8 shirt at Juventus, a number that has been unused since Weston McKennie changed his shirt number to 16 in the 2023/24 season.

Bianconeri reportedly spent 60 million euros (around Rp. 1.03 trillion) to bring the 26-year-old midfielder to the Allianz Stadium.

During the 2023/24 season, Koopmeiners scored 15 goals and provided five assists for Atalanta, playing a major role in their success. The Deity won the Europa League title last season.

In an interview after being officially introduced, Koopmeiners said that playing for Juventus is a dream come true. He considers Juventus to be the biggest club in Italy.

“I’m really happy to be here. This has been my dream for a long time. I’m really, really happy,” said Koopmeiners.

“In my opinion, Juventus is the biggest club in Italy. Everything I see, from the club, squadthe uniform, the way the team plays, and the history, are very attractive. This club is the best in Italy for me,” he explained.

Koopmeiners becomes Juventus’ eighth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Douglas Luiz, Michele Di Gregorio, Khepren Thuram, Juan Cabal, Nico Gonzalez, Francisco Conceicao and Pierre Kalulu.

Juventus have made a number of new recruits to strengthen the team under the guidance of their new coach, Thiago Motta.
