Kabau Sirah Picks Up First Victory in League 1

Jakarta, Todaysgist.com – Semen Padang managed to get their first three points in League 1 this season after defeating PSS Sleman with a score of 1-0 at the Police Science College (STIK) Stadium, Jakarta, Monday (26/8/3034).

This victory raised the position Kabau Sirah to 12th place in the standings with three points. Meanwhile, PSS Sleman is languishing in last place after losing three matches.

Semen Padang opened the scoring early in the match. A foul incident by PSS goalkeeper Ega Rizky on Cornelius Ezekiel Stewart in the penalty box in the second minute resulted in a penalty kick.

Kenneth Ngwoke took the penalty in the fourth minute, and his shot to the left side of the PSS goal was beyond Ega’s control. Semen Padang took a 1-0 lead.

Semen Padang almost doubled their lead in the 40th minute. Ezekiel received a pass from Bruno Dybal, but his shot hit the left post of the PSS goal. Kenneth tried to capitalize on the rebound, but he was already in position offside.

PSS Sleman tried to put up a fight with Hokky Caraka’s header that soared over the goal. PSS again spread threats through Nicolao Cardoso’s kick that hit Semen Padang’s goalpost. The rebound was then pounced on by Danilo Alves, but his kick still missed.

Semen Padang’s 1-0 lead lasted until the end of the first half.

Entering the second half, Semen Padang again put pressure through Ngwoke’s kick which was successfully blocked by the PSS goalkeeper. They had scored a goal through Ryohei Michibuchi’s accurate kick, but the goal was disallowed. VAR review showed Michibuchi was in a position offside.

Towards the end of the match, PSS Sleman got a chance from Gustavo Tocantins’ close-range shot which was blocked by Semen Padang defender Tin Martic. Another good chance was obtained by PSS through Paulo Sitanggang’s shot, but it was again blocked by Semen Padang goalkeeper Diky. Semen Padang was able to maintain its first win of the season until the final whistle sounded.
