Kim Kardashian gets more than a million fine – Kim Kardashian has to pay a fine of 1.26 million dollars (1.29 million euros) because she has advertised a cryptocurrency. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the regulator of the stock exchanges, says that the reality star the means of payment “unlawfully” touted.

Kardashian advertised the cryptocurrency on social media, but did not indicate that she was paid for it.

According to the SEC, the case is a “reminder that if celebrities or influencers promote investment opportunities such as cryptocurrencies, that does not mean that these are the best products for all investors”.

The amount that the reality star has to pay is made up of the 260,000 dollars that she received for the advertising, plus a million dollars fine.
