Robert Kiyosaki, author of “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”, provokes controversy when criticizing Warren Buffett, calling him “too old” to understand Bitcoin and challenging his negative views on cryptocurrencies. Recalling statements by Buffett and Charlie Munger, who disdained BTC in 2018, Kiyosaki defends the importance of studying before investing and states that he listens to Bitcoin experts, implying that the vision of experienced investors does not reflect the potential of cryptocurrencies.

Through his official account on X, the investor and Bitcoin enthusiast stated that Warren Buffet is very old and is not your reference when it comes to cryptocurrencies.

To support his first acid criticism of 2025, Kiyosaki recalled a speech by Buffet in January 2018, during the Berkshire Hathawa annual meetingy, led by the 94-year-old investor. Questioning what he thought of cryptocurrencies, Buffet declared that Bitcoin is rat poison squared, followed by his right-hand man and vice president of the company, Charlie Munger, who called Bitcoin dementia.

At the time, Bitcoin was trading at US$9,399.59, and the cryptocurrency was experiencing its first major drop, rising from the peak of US$20,000 reached in December 2017, to around US$3,000 at the end of the year. The speeches were applauded by those present, who laughed at the comparisons made by Charlie Munger, who compared trading cryptocurrencies to selling feces.

BTC value has risen 10x since then

The speeches of Buffet and Munger are usually reminded of the cryptocurrency market at the beginning of January, as a warning that not even the bigwigs of the financial marketresponsible for a US$ 1 trillion dollar company, are able to understand the real value of cryptocurrencies.

However, Robert Kiyosaki didn’t mince words when criticizing businesspeople, calling them too old and too rich, and that their opinion on Bitcoin doesn’t matter. However, the 77-year-old investor, who has gold, silver and Bitcoin in his investment portfolio, made a point of highlighting that the two Wall Street legends are right in one thing, when they tell people to know, study and understand before invest.

Regarding this advice, Robert made a point of agreeing with both and saying that he does exactly that. He said that, before investing, he studies and listens to people smarter than him, adding that these people he listens to know and know specifically about Bitcoin, contrasting Buffett and Munger. The latter, who even passed away in November 2023, did not have time to see BTC rise 10 times and reach the value of US$100,000.
