Komang Eliminated, Putri KW Walks Away

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Indonesian women’s singles Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi was eliminated from the 2024 Korea Masters badminton tournament, while Putri Kusuma Wardani or Putri KW advanced to the next round, in Iksan, South Korea, Wednesday (6/11/2024).

Komang stopped in the first round after losing to Taiwanese player Liang Ting Yu in three games 21-13, 19-21 and 21-23.

Meanwhile, Putri KW went smoothly by defeating Taiwanese player Huang Yu-Hsun with a landslide score of 21-4, 21-9 in the top 32 of the 2024 Korea Masters.

“I quite enjoyed this first match. “It’s also not as expected because I thought it would be busy (fierce) because from the video I watched, the opponent was a tenacious player and his shot was quite good,” said Putri.

According to Putri KW, one of the main keys to victory is game control and precise shots.

“The shuttlecock here is slow, so whoever can hold the front game and control the shot will be the winner,” said the third seed.

Apart from Putri and Komang Ayu, there are still Indonesian representatives from the women’s doubles sector who will compete today at the 2024 Korea Masters.

Meanwhile, third seeds Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi will meet Taiwanese representatives Hsieh Pei Shan/Hung En-Tzu in the round of 32 of the 2024 Korea Masters.

In other matches, three other Indonesian representatives have confirmed their places in the last 16 of the 2024 Korea Masters.

They were the two men’s doubles, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani and Daniel Marthin/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, who won in the first round.

Apart from that, the second seeded mixed doubles, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, advanced to the second round after winning bye.
