Kominfo Coordinates with BSSN and Polri to Investigate Alleged DJP Data Leak

Todaysgist.com, Jakarta – The Ministry of Communication and Information has finally responded to the alleged leak of taxpayer data some time ago.

For information, the alleged data leak was claimed by an anonymous account claiming to be Bjorka. In its upload, the account claimed to have hacked and stolen taxpayer data.

Some of the claimed data is even said to belong to President Joko Widodo, ministers, and several other high-ranking officials. Regarding this, the Ministry of Communication and Information stated that it had asked for clarification from the Ministry of Finance’s Directorate General of Taxes.

This step is based on PP number 71 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Electronic Systems and Transactions (PP PSTE). Not only that, Kominfo also continues to coordinate with other related parties regarding the alleged leak of taxpayer data.

“Currently, the Ministry of Communication and Information is following up and continuing to coordinate intensively with BSSN, the Ministry of Finance’s Directorate General of Taxes, and the Indonesian Police,” said the Director General of IKP Kominfo Prabu Revolusi in a press release received on Saturday (21/9/2024).

Prabu also said that the PDP Law regulates criminal provisions against anyone who intentionally breaks the law, such as disclosing Personal Data that does not belong to him or using Personal Data that does not belong to him.

“Using Personal Data that is not yours is punishable by a maximum imprisonment of 4 years and/or a maximum fine of 4 billion rupiah,” said Prabu.

Meanwhile, using Personal Data that does not belong to you is punishable by imprisonment for a maximum of 5 years and/or a maximum fine of 5 billion rupiah.

“The process of imposing criminal sanctions under the PDP Law is carried out by Law Enforcement Officers in accordance with the provisions of applicable laws and regulations,” said the Director General of IKP closing his statement.
