Lack of Concentration Causes Maluku to Suffer Defeat Against Bali United
Ternate, Todaysgist.com – Malut United coach, Imran Nahumarury, revealed that the players lost focus when facing Bali United so they lost 1-4 in the 2024/25 League 1 match at the Sultan Agung Bantul Stadium, DIY, on Saturday (21/9/2024) night.
“From the start, I have said that the match against Bali United will be difficult considering their previous match results. Our players lost focus because the match was stopped for quite a long time,” said Imran Nahumarury, Sunday (22/9/2024).
The match was stopped for quite a while due to an injury suffered by Malut United player, Yance Sayuri, due to a collision in the chest to the neck. Yance who was unconscious was then taken to the hospital.
At the beginning of the match, Malut United, who made several changes in the line-up compared to the match against Borneo, dominated the game. Their attacks from the wings were quite troublesome for Bali United’s defense.
Malut United almost closed the first half with a goal from Yance Sayuri, who utilized Yakob Sayuri’s pass to break through Bali United’s goal guarded by Maringa in the 41st minute.
According to Imran, Laskar Kie Raha were able to create dangerous opportunities in the opponent’s defense area several times. Five attempts were successfully made by Alwi Slamat and his colleagues, with four of them on target.
However, unfortunately for Malut United, Cassio Scheid’s attempt to clear the ball in front of the goal actually resulted in an own goal in the 45+2 minute, so that the first half ended with a draw of 1-1.
Entering the second half, Bali United managed to find the rhythm of the game they needed. The substitutions made, as coach Teco admitted in a press conference after the match, had a big impact.
Bali United successfully fired nine shots towards the Malut United goal guarded by M Fahri, and three of them were successfully converted into goals.
Problems arose for Malut United since the 66th minute when Yance was injured. The long time for handling Yance’s injury had an impact on the loss of concentration of Imran Nahumarury’s players.
“We have to admit that one of the factors of this defeat is the players who lost focus since Yance was injured. They are very worried about Yance’s condition who has problems with his respiratory tract,” Imran said in a press conference.
After that, Bali United dominated the game. The second goal was scored by Made Tito in the 67th minute, followed by goals from M Rahmat (83), and Irfan Jaya (90+9).
Malut United had a golden opportunity through Jorge Ivan Correa’s header, but the Maringa goalkeeper managed to make an extraordinary save to thwart Laskar Kie Raha’s opportunity.
Malut United also had to play with 10 men after Tatsuro Nagamatsu, who had just come on as a substitute, received a red card in the 90th minute for a hard foul.
“Congratulations to Bali United. We have a lot of homework to do to improve this team. I promise to bring improvements in the next matches,” said Imran.
Safrudin Tahar, who represented the Maluku players in the press conference, apologized to all Maluku supporters for the defeat.
“We have fought hard, both players and coaching staff. However, that is football,” said Tahar.
Malut United will next face PSS Sleman in an away match on Thursday (26/9/2024) at the Manahan Solo Stadium, at 19.00 WIB.
