LaLiga Results: Beating Girona, Barcelona Still Perfect

Two minutes after the break, Barcelona pulled further away from Girona. This time Dani Olmo contributed a goal. The former RB Leipzig player unleashed a volley from a tight angle after receiving a long pass and winning a duel from Lopez.

Barcelona scored the fourth goal of the match in the 64th minute. Midfielder Pedri also got his name on the scoreboard. Pedri calmly outwitted Gazzaniga before slotting the ball into an empty net.

Girona got a consolation goal in the 80th minute through striker Cristhian Stuani. Barcelona itself then had to end the match with 10 players. Ferran Torres who came on as a substitute was given a red card for fouling Yaser Asprilla in the 86th minute.

With the win at Girona’s home ground, Barcelona is soaring in the 2024/2025 LaLiga standings. They have collected 15 points, four points ahead of Real Madrid who are in second place. Girona itself is slumped in sixth place because it has only got seven points from five matches.
