Latyr Fall’s single goal brings Juku Spell up to 3rd position

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – PSM Makassar managed to climb to third place in the Indonesian League 1 standings after beating Borneo FC with a narrow score of 1-0 in the 12th match at the Batakan Stadium, Balikpapan, Monday (2/12/2024).

This victory was achieved thanks to a single goal scored by Latyr Fall in the first half.

With these results, PSM Makassar has now collected 21 points from 12 matches and is in third place. Meanwhile, Borneo FC remains in fourth place with the same points, but is behind on goal difference.

Statistically, Borneo FC dominated ball possession up to 76 percent and created 12 attempted shots. However, the effectiveness of Juku Eja’s attacks was the key to victory in the PSM vs Borneo FC match, because three of their five shots were on target.

The only goal in this match came in the 16th minute. Starting from Daisuke Sakai’s corner kick which created chaos in the Borneo penalty box, Latyr Fall managed to take advantage of the situation by kicking the ball into Nadeo Argawinata’s goal.

Borneo FC had time to apply pressure through Gabriel Furtado’s header after receiving Stefano Lilipaly’s corner kick, but the ball bounced over the crossbar.

PSM also created another opportunity through Mariano Peralta’s hard shot from outside the penalty box, but the ball was saved by the Borneo goalkeeper, Hilmansyah.

In the first half of added time, Stefano Lilipaly had a golden opportunity when he was one on one with Hilmansyah, but his shot went wide of the goal.

In the second half, PSM almost doubled their lead through Nermin Haljeta who met Victor Luiz’s cross, but the ball still bounced. Meanwhile, Borneo FC continued to try to equalize, but until the final whistle sounded, the score remained 1-0 for PSM to win.

After the PSM vs Borneo match, Juku Eja is scheduled to meet Bali United in an away match on Saturday (7/12/2024). Meanwhile, Borneo FC will host PSIS Semarang the day before.
