League 1 Opening Match, Persib Bandung Crushes Newcomer PSBS Biak 4-1

Todays gist – The host, Persib Bandung, crushed PSBS Biak with a score of 4-1 in the opening match of the 2024/2025 Indonesian League 1 season at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Kutawaringin, Bandung Regency, West Java, on Friday (9/8/2024) evening.

Persib Bandung’s four winning goals were contributed by David Da Silva in the 18th and 85th minutes, Beckham Putra in the 65th minute, and Ciro Alves in the 77th minute. While PSBS Biak created the only goal through Alevandro in the 52nd minute.

Starting the match in front of more than 10,000 Bobotoh, Persib Bandung played directly pressing and got its first golden opportunity in the third minute through Dimas Drajad’s kick in the penalty box. But unfortunately the ball was still well anticipated by the opposing goalkeeper.

In the 12th minute, Persib Bandung again threatened the PSBS goal through a header from David Da Silva. Again, it was still wide above the PSBS Biak goal.

In the 17th minute, Persib Bandung finally opened the winning goal through David Da Silva who utilized a pass from Dimas Drajad. The temporary score was 1-0 for the home team.

Until the whistle blew in the 45th minute, there were not many significant attacks from either team, the score was still 1-0 in favor of the home team.

At the beginning of the second half, PSBS Biak managed to dominate the match by piercing the home team’s defense several times, which finally in the 52nd minute Alexandro managed to equalize through a header from Markho Sandi’s cross. The score changed to 1-1.

Three minutes later, Maung Bandung threatened the opponent’s goal through Ciro Alves’ kick through Mailson Lima’s pass. However, it still went wide above the PSBS goal.

In the 65th minute, Persib Bandung took the lead again through Ciro Alves’ flat pass from the left side of PSBS Biak’s defense which was met by Beckham Putra’s header which Mario Londak was unable to anticipate. The score changed again to 2-1 for Maung Bandung’s advantage.

In the 76th minute, Bojan Hodak’s team increased their lead through Ciro Alves’ hard kick after accelerating from outside the penalty box that was able to pass two opposing defenders to successfully deliver a goal. The score changed again to 3-1.

Not satisfied with his one goal, David Da Silva again thickened the lead through cooperation with Ciro Alves in the penalty box which could be used to score a goal. The score changed to 4-1.

Until the final minutes the score did not change and the match ended with a 4-1 victory for the home team in the opening match of Liga 1 2024/2025.
