THE Ethereum staking market (ETH) is undergoing a remarkable transformation in 2025, with the Reada leading platform in this sector, starting to lose ground to rivals like Binance.
The change in the staking landscape reflects a change in user preferences and highlights how liquid staking platforms are gaining popularity. Meanwhile, other platforms face significant declines in their shares.
According to recent data from Defi Llama, platforms net staking collectively guaranteed 13.85 million ETH until the end of November 2024. However, since then, the shares of these platforms have fallen by 70,000 Etherrepresenting a decrease of approximately 0.5% of the total.
THE Readwhich previously dominated the sector with 69.96% of net staked assets, lost 160,000 ETH since the end of November 2024. This drop meant that the platform no longer controlled around 9.8 million ETHpassing to 9.64 million ETH.
Readone of the main liquid staking protocols inside the decentralized finance (DeFi)allows users to stake Ethereum while maintaining the liquidity of their assets through derived tokens.
However, even with its leading position, Lido now faces a growing competition.
While the Lido loses ground, Binanceone of the largest exchanges in the world, has demonstrated a notable growth in net Ethereum staking.
In the last 36 days, the platform Binance managed to accumulate 150,000 ETHattracting investors looking for more flexibility and ease when staking.
This significant increase in the participation of Binance positions the exchange as a growing threat to Lido’s dominance, especially considering that Binance also offers direct access and ease of use to its millions of users.
Currently, the total of 13.78 million ETH locked on net staking platforms represents 11.44% of the circulating supply of 120.47 million ETH.
