Liga 2 match Deltras vs Persibo ends in chaos

Sidoarjo, Beritasatu.com – The Indonesian League 2 match between Deltras Sidoarjo and Persibo Bojonegoro at the Gelora Delta Stadium, Sidoarjo, East Java on Saturday (11/1/2024) afternoon ended in chaos. The referee’s decision to approve Persibo’s goal in the final minutes of the match sparked emotions among the players and Deltras supporters.

The chaos occurred after Deltras fans and players felt that the goal was invalid because it was deemed to have occurred in position offside. As a result of this incident, the match had to be stopped.

According to information on the field, a number of Persibo players were victims of beatings by Deltras supporters who took to the field. Some of them even had to be rushed to hospital due to their injuries.

Conditions heated up to the point that military police officers had to evacuate the referee team and Persibo players out of the stadium to avoid a worse situation. The evacuation will continue until Saturday (11/1/2025) evening to ensure the safety of all relevant parties.

Deltras FC CEO Amir Burhanuddin expressed his disappointment with the match fixtures. He considered the referee lacking fair in leading this match, the Deltras vs Persibo party was chaotic.

“What is certain is because of the match officials, in this case the referee,” he said.

According to him, the referee in this match was not fair. In the match between Deltras and Persibo in the first half, Deltras’ goal was disallowed by the referee. While on injury timePersibo scored goals offside by Deltras, it was actually validated by the referee.

“The ball is not in the position where it needs to be kicked, and the Persibo player’s position offside. When the referee was about to approve the goal, the children protested. Finally the referee left,” he said.

Even though the situation inside the stadium was out of control, conditions outside the stadium were reported to remain safe. Until now, the PSSI Disciplinary Committee (Komdis) is still waiting for a complete report regarding this riot to determine the next decision.

Meanwhile, the visiting team officials in the Deltras vs Persibo match which ended in chaos have not yet provided an official statement.
