Los Blancos Chasing Winning Streak

Madrid, Todaysgist.com – Real Madrid are targeting back-to-back wins when they play away against Las Palmas in the Spanish League (La Liga) match, on Friday (30/8/2024) at 02.00 WIB, in Gran Canaria.

La Liga champions Madrid beat Real Valladolid 3-0 in their second La Liga match, while Las Palmas suffered a narrow defeat against Leganes.

Real Madrid underwent some significant changes to their squad over the summer, with Toni Kroos retiring from professional football. The Whites also introduced Kylian Mbappe and Endrick as their star recruits.

Mbappe made his Real Madrid debut by scoring in the UEFA Super Cup win over Atalanta BC, but he has failed to score in his first two La Liga appearances.

The Whites started their league campaign with a 1-1 draw away to Real Mallorca. They only showed their strength in their second game against newly promoted Valladolid.

Federico Valverde and Brahim Diaz each scored, with Endrick coming off the bench to score the third. The goal made the 18-year-old the youngest Real Madrid player to score on his La Liga debut in the 21st century.

The convincing win means Carlo Ancelotti’s men are now unbeaten in 34 top-flight games. Madrid’s last defeat came against city rivals Atletico Madrid in September 2023.

Real Madrid now travel to Gran Canaria hoping to pick up their first away win of the season. Madrid have won all four of their previous meetings with Las Palmas.

This season, Las Palmas are under new management after coach Garcia Pimienta ended his two-and-a-half year tenure to take over the reins at the Sevilla club.

Luis Carrion was then appointed as Pimienta’s replacement, taking the position after nearly leading Real Oviedo to success in the Segunda Division playoffs last season.

Oviedo’s La Liga dream may have ended following their playoff final defeat to Espanyol, but Carrion has been given the chance to show his managerial chops in the top flight.

Unfortunately for Carrion, life as a La Liga coach got off to a less than impressive start, with his side picking up just one point from their first two games.

Las Palmas drew 2-2 at home and lost 2-1 to Leganes, extending their winless run in La Liga to 16 games.

It looks like it will be tough for Las Palmas to get a win against Madrid, the reigning La Liga and Champions League champions. But playing at home, they will be looking to get a point from Los Blancos, as they did in March 2017 when they drew 3-3.

Team R ConditionReal Madrid will play their second game without Jude Bellingham. The England international is out with a muscle injury in his right leg. Bellingham joins David Alaba and Eduardo Camavinga in the treatment room.

Meanwhile Jesus Vallejo is a doubt after missing the game against Valladolid due to a fitness issue.

Ferland Mendy has served a one-match ban for his red card against Mallorca. The Frenchman will replace Fran Garcia on the left side of the back four.

Ancelotti is likely to make further changes to freshen up his side, with Lucas Vazquez, Luka Modric and Brahim all in contention for a starting spot at the Gran Canaria Stadium.

Meanwhile, Las Palmas played without attacking duo Adnan Januzaj and Pejino due to muscle injuries.

Midfielder Fabio Gonzalez is still subject to a fitness check ahead of the game, having been forced to miss the first two games with an ankle problem.

Sandro Ramirez may have to be content with a place on the bench despite scoring in Las Palmas’ first two games of the new season.
