Losing Again, Ong Kim Swee Loves Cleylton’s Red Card
Solo, Beritasatu.com – Home coach Ong Kim Swee regretted the red card his team received again during the Persis vs PSM Makassar match in the 2024/2025 League 1 season continuation match at Manahan Stadium, Solo City, Central Java, Monday (13/1/2025) .
“Once again we played with 10 men which should not have happened. This changes our playing pattern. “At the same time, PSM Makassar, who played with 11 players, were able to perfect their opportunities, but we were unable to perfect the opportunities created so the results were not what we wanted, especially regarding the red card we got,” he said in a press conference after the match.
Exactly had to play with 10 people from the 20th minute after new defender Cleylton received a red card.
Ong emphasized that the issue of red and yellow cards that Persis Solo received a lot was an issue that the players had to pay attention to because it really affected the match that would be played.
“As I said before the start of the second round, the situation of the yellow and red cards for Persis Solo is very worrying and should not be left alone. “And today again our players got cards, the two players we just picked got red and yellow cards,” stressed Coach Ong after the Persis vs PSM match.
Meanwhile, regarding the performance of the three new foreign players who made their first appearance in this match, the Malaysian coach said that the three of them had shown a pretty good game even though they still had a lot to learn in the next matches to give their best performance.
“Jordy (Tutuarima) is playing quite well and he is still adapting to all the players. I believe Jordy will be better after this with more minutes played. Then Cleylton Santos was able to provide confidence in the defense, but received a red card which should not have happened. “He still has a lot to learn from tonight’s match,” said Ong.
“Then Lautaro Belleggia, even though he has only arrived for five days and needs time, I believe he will get smarter and be able to help our troops for the upcoming match,” he added after the Persis vs PSM match.
Meanwhile, PSM Makassar coach Bernardo Tavares Fernando Jose admitted that the match was very tight, coupled with the tired condition of his team, he was very grateful to finally be able to get three points even though he only managed to score one goal.
“Firstly, our team is very tired now because we have to fly from Makassar to Cambodia to compete there, then to Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and here. Plus the match was very tight because Persis Solo played extraordinary even though they only played with 10 people. “But fortunately in several areas we were able to make good decisions and were able to score goals,” he said after the Persis vs PSM match.
