Man United Wins Narrowly over Bodo/Glimt, Hotspur Detained by Roma

Another Europa League result, Tottenham Hotspur were held to a 2-2 draw by AS Roma on Thursday.

In the Man United vs Bodo/Glimt match at Old Trafford Stadium, the hosts took the lead in the first minute thanks to a mistake by goalkeeper Nikita Haikin, who failed to anticipate a pass back and under pressure from Rasmus Hojlund. The ball is loose and Alejandro Garnacho can tap it in from close range.

But then, the Norwegian club responded by scoring two goals with quick attacks, Hakon Evjen fired a powerful shot into the top corner in the 19th minute, and Philip Zinckernagel held off Tyrell Malacia before rounding goalkeeper Andre Onana to stun the Man United fans at Old Trafford.

Man United equalized just before the break when Noussair Mazraoui’s pass into the penalty area found Hojlund who had the ball. He took the first touch before firing past two defenders into the far corner of the goal.

Amorim’s side took the lead five minutes after the break when Manuel Ugarte’s low pass in the penalty area was directed towards goal by Hojlund shortly after Mason Mount’s shot hit the crossbar.

With these Europa League results, Man United secured three points which lifted them to 12th position in the standings with nine points. Meanwhile, their opponents Bodo/Glimt are in 17th position with seven points.

Another Europa League result, Hotspur twice took the lead over Roma, but a goal in added time scored by Mats Hummels made it 2-2.

Hotspur’s Son Heung-min opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the fifth minute after a foul on Pape Matar Sarr by Mats Hummels. Roma then equalized in the 20th minute when Evan N’Dicka scored following a free kick into the penalty box taken by Paulo Dybala.

Hosts Hotspur regained the lead 12 minutes before the break after Dejan Kulusevski passed to Brennan Johnson who fired a powerful low shot into the corner of the net.

The hosts dominated the chances but were unable to beat Roma and after a corner in stoppage time initially cleared the ball back to Hummels who scored an unlikely equaliser.

With these Europa League results, Hotspur is in ninth position in the standings with 10 points. Meanwhile, Roma is in 21st position with six points.
