Many Celebrity TikTok Accounts Have Been Hacked, Here Are Tips for Keeping Your Social Media Security

Todaysgist.com, Jakarta – In the last few days, there has been a lot of information about TikTok accounts belonging to celebrities and media accounts being taken over by irresponsible parties.

In fact, TikTok also admits that there are security problems that could allow attackers to take control of its users' accounts.

Kaspersky, in a statement, stated the reasons why this could happen. Based on information received Techno Todaysgist.comFriday (7/6/2024), this problem stems from a zero-click exploit used by a malicious group.

This dangerous group took over famous accounts and possibly small accounts, through the DM function on the TikTok platform.

It is noted that to date the accounts targeted include accounts belonging to CNN, Paris Hilton and Sony

Zero-click itself is an attack that occurs without the user clicking on any malicious links. Victims simply open a direct message on TikTok and the malware can be triggered.

A TikTok spokesperson noted that they take this vulnerability seriously and are already working to stop the attack.

“We have taken action to stop this attack and prevent it from happening again in the future. “We are working directly with affected account owners to restore access, if necessary,” TikTok said.
