Jorge Martin, who also rode a Ducati, became champion after gaining a total of 508 points or 10 points ahead of Bagnaia who was in second place.

Martin also won the first MotoGP title during his professional career. The 26 year old racer also broke the dominance of Pecco, who became MotoGP champion in the last two seasons.
