MGPA Confirms Indonesia’s Costs to Host MotoGP 2024 Have Been Paid Off

Central Lombok, Beritasatu.com – Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) ensures costs hosting fees for the implementation of the 2024 Indonesian MotoGP which will take place at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara, it has been fully paid to Dorna.

“We emphasize that costs hosting fees MotoGP 2024 has been paid in full to Dorna. “There is no problem related to this, and it should not be exaggerated,” said MGPA Main Director, Priandi Satria, in Central Lombok, Monday (16/12/2024).

Priandi explained that in MotoGP 2024, MGPA will only act as manager of the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit and organizer of the MotoGP 2024 event.

“We at MGPA do not have a direct relationship with Dorna in terms of payments hosting fees. Dorna is the owner of the MotoGP event,” he explained regarding the costs of hosting MotoGP.

According to him, the MGPA’s collaboration with Dorna is more related to the technical and operational aspects of racing, both within the competition agenda and outside of the competition. Meanwhile, business hosting fees is under the responsibility of the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), which has had a direct agreement with Dorna from the start.

“We, together with ITDC, have also started discussions with Dorna regarding preparations for the 2025 Indonesian MotoGP,” he said regarding the usual holding of MotoGP in Indonesia.

For MotoGP 2025, he hopes that all parties can collaborate so that organizing the event is more efficient in terms of costs.

The hope is that MotoGP 2025 can be better in terms of implementation, entertainment and crowds, as well as having a greater economic impact on the community, business actors in Mandalika, Lombok, NTB and Indonesia as a whole,” he added regarding the costs of hosting MotoGP.

Priandi also emphasized the importance of ensuring that Mandalika, Lombok, NTB and Indonesia become better known to the world through this MotoGP racing event.

It is hoped that coverage from foreign media, the presence of racing teams and racers competing in the Mandalika MotoGP will further introduce Indonesia globally, as well as increase foreign tourist visits.

“Indonesian MotoGP does not only belong to the MGPA, but to all of Indonesia. “This event must be supported and promoted for the benefit of the country,” he concluded regarding the costs of hosting MotoGP.
