National Team Forward Ramadhan Sananta Registers for College at Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya

Surabaya, Todaysgist.com – Indonesian National Team player Muhammad Ramadhan Sananta showed his concern for education by registering as a new student at the Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya (UM Surabaya).

Although he has plans to develop his business, he admitted that he is still focused on his football career. Sananta, who is now a striker for Liga 1 club Persis Solo, chose to major in Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) just like his colleagues in the Indonesian National Team, such as Rizky Ridho, Komang Teguh, and Malik Risaldi.

“Seeing my friends in the National Team who are studying made me interested. I also had the chance to ask Ridho about studying at UM Surabaya,” said Sananta at the location, Thursday (19/9/2024).

The encouragement to go to college came from his family. Sananta said that his parents often reminded him how important education was, even though his football career was shining. Because of that, he decided to continue his studies at UM Surabaya.

He emphasized that his choice of major was not because he was following others, but rather because it was his desire from the start.

“From the beginning, I planned to take Management. I want to learn how to manage things, because this major is important for my future career,” he said.

When asked about the importance of education for athletes, Sananta explained that education is crucial. He realized that knowledge goes beyond the world of sports.

“Athletes’ careers don’t last long. I hope that by pursuing higher education, I can open up many opportunities. I am sure that going to college will broaden my horizons,” he explained.

Regarding college time, Sananta is still adjusting his schedule. He admitted that he had difficulty dividing his time between training and college amidst the League 1 competition.

“If I have 3-4 days free, I will go to campus, but I can’t be sure when. Hopefully I can adapt and manage my time well,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Head of the UM Surabaya Student Information and Admissions Institute (LIPMB), Radius Setiyawan, said that Sananta was the 55th athlete to study at the campus.

The large number of athletes who register at UM Surabaya is proof that the learning and curriculum at this university are considered accessible.

“Regarding learning and curriculum for athletes, the university is very ready. We have student affairs and faculty offices that coordinate this,” said Radius.

As an athlete scholarship recipient, Ramadhan Sananta is exempted from tuition fees at UM Surabaya for four years. This is UM Surabaya’s commitment to support outstanding athletes in Indonesia.
