National Team Supporters Attack the Instagram Account of a Myanmar Defender Who Behaved Badly at Marselino Ferdinand

Yangon, Beritasatu.com – Indonesian national team supporters invaded Myanmar defender Hein Phyo Win’s Instagram account after behaving badly by deliberately kicking the ball back to Marselino Ferdinan when Myanmar lost 0-1 to Indonesia in the 2024 AFF Cup, Monday (9/12/2024).

The incident occurred in the fifth minute of extra time in the first half. Indonesian national team player Marselino Ferdinan dribbled the ball from the right side and was fouled by a Myanmar player. After that, Hein Phyo Win kicked the ball hard towards the Indonesian midfielder’s head until there was almost a commotion between players from both sides.

Marselino Ferdinan endured pain in his head, while Phyo Win received a yellow card from referee Wong Wai Lun. After consulting with VAR, the Hong Kong referee maintained the decision.

Supporters of the Indonesian National Team then discovered Hein Phyo Win’s Instagram account. The account only has around 4,600 followers, but has now received more than 8,000 comments, most of which are critical and condemning. Thus forcing the 26 year old midfielder to deactivate this feature.

The hyadmo account said Win should have received a red card.

“You are very unprofessional,” said the owner of the madharma account.

Meanwhile, Magerrsaugi commented: “Hurry up and apologize or your account will be lost!”

Many other accounts asked the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) to give Myanmar players severe punishment for not playing fair.

Myanmar did appear tough and even violent in the match against Indonesia at Thuwunna Stadium. Apart from Myanmar defender Phyo Win, Maung Maung Lwin and Wai Lin Aung also received yellow cards for their rough play.
