NBA Draft 2024: Lakers Recruit LeBron James' Son, New History Will Be Created

Liputan6.com, Jakarta- As previously expected, the Los Angeles Lakers finally chose to take Bronny James in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. Bronny is none other than the son of Lakers star, LeBron James.

Bronny James was selected by the Lakers in 55th place in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft which took place Friday (28/6/2024) early morning WIB. Bronny had to accept the bitter reality of not being selected in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft which was held the day before.

In the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft, the Lakers chose to draft Dalton Knecht. The Lakers' success in recruiting Knecht was one of the big surprises in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft. The Lakers received praise for being lucky enough to get Knecht even though they only selected 17th.

After securing Knecht, it is suspected that the Lakers will take Bronny to satisfy LeBron James. In this way, new history will be created in the 2024/2025 NBA. For the first time there will be a father and son pair playing together as teammates.

Bronny plays as a guard. He previously played for the University of Southern California. However, the 19 year old young man's progress was not as impressive as his father's. Bronny only has an average of 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

LeBron has stated many times that he wants to play with his son in the NBA before retiring. Now LeBron's dream will be achieved in the 2024/2025 NBA after the Lakers took Bronny at number 55.
