The Netflix series Wednesday gets a sequel. There is a second season coming, the streaming service announced Friday.
The news follows rumors of a possible end to Wednesday, despite the great success. These arose after MGM, the production company behind the series, was acquired by Amazon.

Wednesday came out at the end of November and quickly became one of the most successful series ever on Netflix. The series, from director Tim Burton, is about the daughter of the well-known creepy family Addams.
The title role is played by Jenna Ortega, who was previously seen in the series Jane the Virgin and You. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán play her parents Morticia and Gomez Addams.
