Sony aims to produce two million units of new PlayStation VR headset

new PlayStation VR – Sony wants to have made two million copies of the PlayStation VR2 headset in March, reports news agency Bloomberg Monday. Mass production of the virtual reality glasses began last month.

Sony has not yet announced a price and release date, but the glasses are expected to appear early next year. From that moment on, the PlayStation 5 should also be better available. The console has been poorly available since its release in November 2020.

It was previously announced that more than twenty games will be available with the release of the PlayStation VR2 headset. It is not yet known exactly which games are involved, but in any case, a spin-off game of the Horizon series appears. The latest part of that, Horizon Forbidden West, came out in February of this year.

Furthermore, some details about the virtual reality glasses are already known. Among other things, the headset can refresh images 90 to 120 times per second and gets a higher resolution than its predecessor.
