Newcastle held to a draw, Liverpool’s 8th consecutive win in the Premier League ends

Manchester, Beritasatu.com – Liverpool’s eight consecutive wins in the Premier League ended after being held to a draw by hosts Newcastle United, Wednesday (4/12/2024) local time or Thursday (5/12/2024).

Playing in front of St James’ Park, host Newcastle managed to thwart Liverpool’s might in the Premier League. Newcastle held the leaders to a 3-3 draw at the top of the standings.

Liverpool’s lead at the top of the Premier League standings was cut to seven points after the 3-3 draw. The Reds have 35 points, seven points ahead of Chelsea. The Blues moved up to second place after beating Southampton who were in last place with a score of 5-1.

Arne Slot’s team twice came back from one goal down and finally took the lead in the 83rd minute through Mohamed Salah’s second goal. However, they were denied an eighth win in a row when Newcastle bounced back through Schar.

Anthony Gordon put the hosts ahead with a goal in the 62nd minute. Mohamed Salah managed to equalize the next six. Salah silenced the hosts with his goal in the 83rd minute. But in the end, Newcastle fans cheered again after Schar scored the equaliser.

Liverpool also failed to win their ninth match in a row in the Premier League this season.
