NFT-Based GameFi Now Much Interested, Says the CEO of Indodax

Previously, US sports publication company Sports Illustrated launched a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) ticketing platform built on the Polygon network.

Sports Illustrated ticket marketplace SI Tickets was developed in partnership with software company Ethereum ConsenSys, the company behind the MetaMask crypto wallet.

The announcement on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 said it would be the world’s first full NFT ticketing service,

This allows event owners, organizers, and promoters to use tickets to build further engagement opportunities into tickets, such as highlights, collectibles, and offers through a feature called “Super Tickets”.

SI Tickets CEO, David Lane said in a press release the aim of the market from the start was to compete with the traditional ticket market.

“Blockchain is the future of ticketing, and now owners, promoters, hosts, and participants have access to state-of-the-art ticketing experiences that turn ancient barcodes into engaging, collectible content,” said Lane, quoted from CoinDesk, Wednesday (3/5/2023) ).

The use of NFTs as tickets for events is often cited as a potential mass market use case of Web3 technology. Big names like Sports Illustrated working in this sector could provide additional momentum to NFT tickets.

“Blockchain technology offers significant benefits for consumers, in particular ticketing, including improving payment security, and eliminating scalping and fraud,” said Brian Trunzo, head of business development, North America, for Polygon Labs,

In his press release, Trunzo added that this launch will help increase consumer adoption in the use of digital assets.
