Noa Deane and Moana Jones Wong Win Rip Curl Cup at Padang Padang Beach

Jakarta, Todaysgist.com – Noa Deane (men’s group) and Moana Jones Wong (women’s group) became the winners in the Rip Curl Cup held at Padang Padang Beach, Badung Regency, Bali, recently. Both managed to beat surfers, including from Australia, Hawaii, and Indonesia, in conditions barrel (the “hollow” waves) at Padang Padang Beach.

With strong waves and barrel thick, the contestants put on a spectacular performance. Noa Deane stood out after scoring a 13.5 in the final to secure her victory. Moana Jones Wong’s performance was no less impressive, cementing her reputation as one of the world’s best female surfers in conquering barrel.

Another favorite surfer, Jasmine Studer, also impressed by taking on Padang Padang and taking some of the best waves. Likewise, Kailani Johnson managed to conquer some of the toughest waves without fear, showing her courage and commitment to the sport.

An impressive performance was also shown by Mason Ho. The surfer is known for his fearless and innovative surfing style in facing barrel provided a thrilling spectacle. Joel Parkinson–a former world champion–showed off his skills with smooth, controlled surfing throughout the competition.

Then, local surfer Bol Adi Putra, with his in-depth knowledge of Padang Padang, navigated the waves with impressive skill. His neat appearance confirms him as one of the best surfers from Bali.

“This win is absolutely amazing. The conditions were challenging, but that’s what makes it so rewarding. You never really know what the ocean is going to give you and that’s the beauty of it. Surfing with great women and being the best, it doesn’t get any better than that. Padang Padang is truly magical,” said Moana Jones Wong in a written statement received by the editors, Thursday (8/29/2024).

In line with him, Noa Deane also expressed his joy as the winner. “I never thought I would win. My intention was just to have fun and surf with my hero, Mason Ho. It turned out I became the winner. This is the best feeling ever,” he said.

The statement is in line with the Rip Curl Cup’s spirit of bringing the joy of surfing and camaraderie that often outweighs the urge to compete.

Meanwhile, Harrison Mann representing the organizers appreciated the surfers who participated in the competition. The competition that took place from the preliminary round to the final went according to expectations.
