Not yet offered a new contract, Mohamed Salah threatens to leave Liverpool
Liverpool, Beritasatu.com – Striker Mohamed Salah revealed that he has not yet received a new contract offer from Liverpool. With his contract expiring, the 32 year old player can leave Liverpool for free next summer.
“Well, we are almost into December and I have not received any contract offer to stay at this club,” said Salah as reported by France24, Monday (25/11/2024).
Even though Mohamed Salah is an important player for Liverpool. Lastly, the Egyptian player made an important contribution with the two goals he scored when The Reds beat Southampton 3-2, on Sunday (24/11/2024).
“You know I have been at this club for many years. There is no club like this but in the end, it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I have not received anything about my future, ” he continued.
Salah is one of three key Liverpool players whose contracts will expire in the next six months. Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are also out of contract in the summer. The trio will be free to talk to overseas clubs in January if they do not sign contract extensions before then.
Liverpool’s lack of plans to discuss Salah’s contract makes him disappointed. “Of course (disappointed). I love the fans. The fans love me. Ultimately, it’s not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see,” he added.
