Observing the Strength of the National Team, Vietnam Coach Wants to Watch Live Matches between Indonesia and Japan and Arabia

Hanoi, Beritasatu.com – Vietnam national team coach Kim Sang-sik intends to watch the match between the Indonesian national team and the Philippine national team live next November, in order to monitor preparations for the 2024 AFF Cup.

The plan is for Kim Sang-sik to watch the friendly match between Hong Kong vs Philippines on November 14 2024. A day later, he will go to Indonesia to watch Shin Tae-yong’s team meet Japan on November 15 2024, and Saudi Arabia on November 19 2024. in group C, third round of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in the Asian zone.

Indonesia and the Philippines are Vietnam’s main opponents in group B of the 2024 AFF Cup, apart from Laos and Myanmar. Kim Sang-sik wants to watch the match live for more detailed analysis, as well as watch videos of his opponents’ recent matches.

When asked about scouting his rivals, Indonesian National Team coach Shin Tae-yong said that this was a normal action for every coach. “Coach Kim did what was necessary for his team,” Shin said.

“We need to analyze any competitors,” he continued.

Unlike its opponents, Vietnam did not play a friendly match as scheduled for FIFA Day in November. The Vietnam team plans to gather on November 21, after the ninth match of the 2024-2025 V-League, then leave for Korea to train for approximately 10 days.

Match practice with local clubs before leaving for Laos in preparation for the opening match of the AFF Cup on December 10 2024. Such preparations also took place ahead of the 2018 AFF Cup, under the guidance of Park Hang-seo.

Vietnam beat the Philippines in their last two matches (2-0, 3-2) in the second qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup. Meanwhile, Vietnam lost all three matches against Indonesia, including 0-1 in the 2023 Asian Cup group stage, 0-1 and 0- 3 in the second qualifying round.

The 2024 AFF Cup will be held from 8 December 2024 to 5 January 2025 with 10 teams divided into two groups. Each team plays two home games and two away games, to select two first-place teams and two second-place teams to advance. The semifinals and finals will take place in a home and away format.
