Oegroseno is mentally ready to face competition to become a candidate for chairman of the KOI

– Oegroseno reiterated that he is still running as a candidate for Chairman of the KOI for the 2023-2027 period. Previously, the former Deputy Chief of Police had declared his candidacy as General Chair of the KOI on March 23, 2023.

The KOI Congress is scheduled to take place on 30 June 2023 in Jakarta and two names have already declared themselves as candidates for the General Chair of the KOI, namely Oegroseno and incumbent Raja Sapta Oktohari (RSO).

Oegroseno, who is also the Chairman of the Central Board of the Indonesian Table Tennis Association (PP PTMSI), is mentally prepared to face the competition to become the General Chair of KOI, including if head to head with the incumbent King Sapta Oktohari.

“From the start, I said that being a candidate for the General Chair of the KOI is not a matter of winning or losing, but let us learn democracy in a healthy and correct manner. There is no engineering that benefits certain candidates,” he told reporters, Friday (19/5/2023).

The former North Sumatran police chief was also not worried about the declaration of support for the incumbent RSO. As long as the support is genuine and not fabricated, Oegroseno invites all elements of Indonesian sports, especially sports with votes, to create a healthy and elegant democracy.

“I have been surrounded left and right, from top to bottom only defending the truth as General Chairperson of PP.PTMSI. As far as this is the principle of truth, I will defend it whenever it is,” said Oegroseno.
