Once Skeptical, LVMH Boss Bernard Arnault Apparently Has an NFT Collection
Liputan6.com, Jakarta The richest man in the world, Bernard Arnault apparently also has a collection of digital non-fungible tokens (NFT). Although he had previously expressed reservations about the technology, his two sons were genuinely interested.
Launching the blockworks page, Thursday (4/5/2023), Alexandre Arnault once showed his interest by wearing a gem-plated Cryptopunk necklace from Tiffany & Co. Alexandre Arnault, has joined the family, just days after his father warned of a metaverse bubble.
Meanwhile, his brother, Frédéric Arnault who is the CEO of Tag Heuer, showed his enthusiasm for Web3 technology by displaying the NFT feature on the brand’s luxury watch brand.
Bernard Arnault has remained relatively silent on this topic. But in a recent Aarthi and Sriram podcast, chief digital officer at LVMH, Ian Rogers was poked about Arnault’s digital collection. When the host asked about Arnault’s digital asset ownership, Roger answered firmly and confirmed that the richest man in the world collects NFTs.
“There is no doubt… He has shown me his OpenSea page of his own free will,” said Roger.
According to data sourced from OpenSea, the name Bernard Arnault is recorded as having a 3-NFT collection and 301 items on his platform. However no further data is available about Arnault’s actual NFT collection.
In addition to collecting NFTs, Arnault is a prominent collector of blue-chip art. Listed with his wife Helene as the richest couple on Artnews’ 2020 list of the top 200 collectors, his collection includes works by Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst.
