Pacific Caesar Surabaya Basketball Club Recruits New Players from the US

Surabaya, Beritasatu.com – The Pacific Caesar Surabaya basketball team has officially recruited a player from the United States named Chrishon Briggs or who is familiarly called Shon Briggs to take part in the 2025/2026 IBL season. Chrishon was noted for having been around the world of international basketball until he last played for Vietnamese club Ho Chi Minh Wings.

The recruitment was announced by Pacific Caesar Surabaya via the official Instagram page. Shon’s sharpness at Pacific Caesar is certainly highly anticipated, considering that the proud club of Arek-arek Suroboyo last season had to settle for finishing at the bottom.

The player, who is 195 cm tall, is also noted for having played internationally in the world of basketball. After graduating from California State University Bakersfield in 2018, he has played in Finland, Ireland, Uruguay and the United States. However, he last played in Vietnam.

With Ho Chi Minh City Wings in the Vietnam Basketball League (VBA), Briggs appeared in 20 matches with an average of 37.1 minutes. His average contribution was 26.2 points, 11.9 rebounding and 3.5 assists. Obviously with averages double-double Briggs is expected to help Pacific dominate paint area.

In his interview session, the 28 year old foreign player admitted that he couldn’t wait to try out his skills with Pacific Caesar. He admitted that he had no personal targets. He just wants to score as many points as possible, just like when he was the top scorer when he was playing for Ho Chi Minh Wings in the Vietnam League.

“I always want to score points. I was once the top scorer in Vietnam and even in Ireland. That comes from my natural ability to score points. I am really in good condition and want my ability to produce wins,” said Shon Briggs, Friday ( 11/1/2024).

Meanwhile, Pacific Caesar Surabaya operational manager, Yusak Harold, said that Shon’s presence was certainly in line with the team’s needs. So he is confident that Pacific Caesar can penetrate the round play offs IBL next season.

Pacific Caesar Surabaya is also the first IBL contestant to introduce foreign players for next season. Apart from Shon, the only basketball team representing East Java plans to introduce new foreign players to the IBL next season.
