Pantera Capital, led by Dan Morehead, predicts that the Bitcoin price could reach US$740,000 until April 2028.

The company’s founder, who began his career as a securities trader at Goldman Sachs, believes the exponential growth of Bitcoin it is linked to economic and political factors, including the Trump administration’s impact on the blockchain sector.

Dan Morehead founded Pantera in 2003 as a global hedge fund, but refocused the focus on cryptocurrencies in 2013, with the launch of the Pantera Bitcoin Fund. Since then, the company has stood out as a pioneer in the sector, accumulating significant returns, such as 131.165% after expenses and fees.

Morehead describes Bitcoin as the first global currency from gold and first borderless payment system. In his analysis, he highlighted that Bitcoin, since Pantera began investing, has grown at a compound rate of 88% per year.

Trump’s influence on Bitcoin

He points out that the cryptocurrency “almost doubled in value annually”, consolidating itself as a promising asset in the global market. Morehead’s optimism also rests on a long-term vision. He believes that, with continued growth, the Bitcoin will reach a market capitalization of $15 trillion in 2028. This projection places cryptocurrency in a prominent position among the largest financial assets in the world.

Morehead argues that the Trump administration, with its pro-blockchain stance, has encouraged the creation of clearer regulations for cryptocurrencies.

He believes this more favorable environment has driven the growth of Bitcoin and decentralized finance (DeFi). According to him, “blockchain is of strategic interest to the nationand Congress is moving towards adopting a neutral or favorable stance towards the sector.”

Although the market is optimistic, with traders projecting prices of up to $150,000 for Bitcoin by 2024analysts point out challenges, such as the volatility of the asset and its correlation with the global money supply (M2).

Experts, such as Joe Consorti, note that the price of Bitcoin closely follows variations in M2, with a delay of 70 days.
