Papua Sweeps Gold and Silver in Mixed Team Trap Shooting

Banda Aceh, Todaysgist.com – Shooting athlete from Papua who competed with two teams in the number mixed team trap At the 21st National Sports Week (PON) Aceh-North Sumatra 2024, they successfully brought home one gold and one silver medal at the Rindam Shooting Range, Mata Ie, Friday (13/9/2024).

Papua Team I consisting of Sarmunah and Andreas Yunut Boky won the gold medal after collecting a final score of 121 points from three rounds in the deciding round.

The silver medal was also won by the Papua II team represented by Fany Febriana Wulandari and Slamet Riadi, with a final score of 117 points, four points ahead of their provincial team.

The two teams from Jayapura were seen competing tightly and chasing each other for points to win the championship position at the Rindam Shooting Range, Aceh Besar.

The pair Fany and Slamet finally had to be satisfied with second place with a silver medal, while the pair Sarmunah and Andreas secured the gold medal.

In third place, the Lampung pair consisting of Adylia Safitri and Nanda Suhelmi had to acknowledge the superiority of the Papua team, after collecting 116 points, only one point behind the Papua II team.

With this achievement, the Papuan contingent has temporarily pocketed two golds, one silver, and one bronze in the shooting sport.

The shooting sport of PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra 2024 will compete for 40 gold medals, with the participation of 316 athletes from 33 provinces competing in various competition categories.
