Paris 2024 Olympics Results: Ups and Downs, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung Soars to Semifinals

The match between Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Ratchanok Intanon at Porte de la Chapelle Arena was fierce and tight from the start of the first game. Both competed in rallies combined with netting and cross smashes.

Intanon was able to equalize the score 20-20 and forced Gregoria to compete in setting. However, after four settings, Intanon’s return made Gregoria win the first game with a score of 25-23.

Entering the second game, Gregoria was 3-5 behind Intanon. However, Gregoria was able to get six consecutive points after overwhelming Intanon, leading 11-6.

Intanon seemed to be exhausted and had difficulty anticipating Gregoria’s netting and smashing game. The badminton player who is familiarly called Jorji was far ahead 19-6.

Intanon had three additional points to change the score to 9-19. However, Gregorkia then ended her resistance with a 21-9 victory.
