Persebaya Officially Recruits Dime Dimov and Dejan Tumbas for the Second Round of League 1

Surabaya, Beritasatu.com – Persebaya Surabaya officially announced the recruitment of two new foreign players, Dime Dimov and Dejan Tumbas, in mid-season transfers to strengthen the team in the continuation of the Indonesian League 1 competition for the 2024/2025 season.

Persebaya Operations Director, Candra Wahyudi, stated that this decision was taken after discussions with the team coach, Paul Munster.

“We have carefully considered the policy to complete the foreign player quota in the second round. This decision is the result of discussions with the coach,” said Candra in Surabaya, Sunday (5/1/2025), regarding this Persebaya transfer.

Candra added that the arrival of these two new players aims to add depth Bajol Ijo squadaccording to the needs of the teams in the second round of the competition.

He also ensured that the presence of Dime and Dejan would not disrupt the team cohesion that had been built during the first round.

“These two players also have the potential to be part of the team’s long-term program because they are still at a productive age,” he explained.

According to data from Transfermarkt, Dime Dimov last played for Lokomotiv Sofia, a Bulgarian League Premier Division club, for two seasons. The player who was born on July 25 1994 recorded 4,404 minutes played in 49 matches.

Meanwhile, Dejan Tumbas previously defended FK Khujand, a Tajikistan League Premier Division club. The player who was born on August 5 1999 has managed to score eight goals in his last 12 matches.

The player included in the Persebaya transfer, Dime, has the flexibility to play in various positions, from front to center, including as an attacking midfielder and defender.

In the League 1 standings, Persebaya is in second place, adrift of Persib Bandung, which now leads the top of the standings.

In the match week 18 of the second round, Persebaya is scheduled to face PSS Sleman away from home on January 11 2025.
