Persebaya’s Preparations Ahead of Facing Barito Putera in the Third Match of the 2024/2025 League 1 Season

Surabaya, Todaysgist.com – Persebaya Surabaya will face Barito Putera in the third match of League 1 2024/2025 which is scheduled for Friday (23/8/2024) at the Gelora Bung Tomo (GBT) Stadium in Surabaya.

This match is of particular concern to the Bajul Ijo team, considering that Barito Putera is quite a challenging opponent.

Last season, Persebaya had a hard time against Barito Putera, with a winless record in two matches. In the last five meetings, Persebaya only managed to get one win, two draws, and two losses. In fact, in the pre-season trial in Jogjakarta, Persebaya lost badly 0-3.

However, Persebaya Surabaya player Ardi Idrus expressed his confidence to achieve victory in the upcoming match. Ardi will likely play as a right-back, replacing Catur Pamungkas who is currently undergoing treatment.

“My original position is right back, so it doesn’t matter whether I play there or on the left. The atmosphere at GBT is very supportive, and we are determined to win. All players agree to fight hard. Persebaya has quality players, and we are optimistic that we can win,” said Ardi Idrus, Monday (19/8/2024).

In the three days leading up to the match, Persebaya Surabaya will focus on perfecting their tactics and strategies. The match against Barito Putera will take place at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, on Friday night (23/8/2024).
