Persik Kediri Supporters Empty the Brawijaya Stadium Tribune Against PSIS

Kediri, Beritasatu.com – The action of emptying the stands was carried out by Persik Kediri supporters when they hosted their guests PSIS Semarang at the Brawijaya Stadium, Kediri City, East Java, Saturday (23/11/2024). The northern tribune, which is usually always busy when Persik Kediri plays, now has no spectators against PSIS Semarang.

A number of people were seen stretching black and yellow stripes above the north stand. Not only that, they also put up several banners and posters. One of the banners read, “kick out politics for football”. A number of TNI-Polri security officers were seen approaching the supporters to give an appeal.

Chairman of the Persik Kediri Panpel Committee, Widodo, admitted that he did not understand the reason why the supporters emptied the stands at the Brawijaya Stadium. However, he said the vacancy was due to political factors insinuating one of the candidate pairs for the regional head election.

“Because there (the banner) doesn’t say who it is intended for. It’s political satire. However, it doesn’t mention any of the names of the candidate pairs or the name of the organization,” said Widodo, Saturday (23/11/2024).

Widodo admitted that he deliberately asked for help from security forces because there was a request from Liga 1 media regarding the presence of racist banners. After further commitment, the installation of the banner was not a problem because it was not caught directly on camera.

“After coordination, it was not highlighted so it was not released,” he explained.

Widodo revealed that during the emptying of the stands at Brawijaya Stadium the number of tickets sold was very small, namely 1,234. Meanwhile, Persik Kediri supporters who were seen putting up banners were reluctant to be questioned about this action.
