Playing in a draw with Bali United, Persib Bandung won the half season

Gianyar, Beritasatu.com – Bali United failed to secure victory against Persib Bandung in the 12th week of the postponed BRI Liga 1 2024/2025 match at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar with a score of 1-1. However, Persib Bandung remains at the top of the standings.

The goal from hosts Bali United only came in the 47th minute from Rahmat Arjuna, while Persib Bandung’s equalizing goal was scored in the 90+3 minute through Gustavo Franca.

With a draw, Bali United coach Stefano Cugurra was disappointed with the results obtained by his team.

“What is clear is that we are disappointed with the result of the match, we played better than them (Persib Bandung). We controlled the match and defended. In the second half we played well and scored a goal, but in the last minute a player got a red card and the opponent was able to score a goal,” said Bali United coach Stefano to the media crew, Tuesday (7/1/2025).

“What is certain is that I am disappointed with this result and the extra time given by the referee, namely 10 minutes,” said Teco after the match.

Teco highlighted the referee’s leadership in this match. The match led by M Erfan Efendi gave a total of eight yellow cards to players including Teco and one red card to Yabes Roni.

“The problem is actually with the referee, and I don’t want to comment anything. What makes me emotional is why he gave me a yellow card even though he didn’t do anything wrong. After the first half I asked the referee and he didn’t answer, he immediately ran away. When “There was a violation, the referee also didn’t see the VAR,” he said.

Likewise, the Persib Bandung coach, Bojan Hodak, highlighted the referee’s leadership. Persib Bandung received 3 yellow cards in this match.

“Actually at the start of the match we didn’t want to comment on the referee, but in fact the referee was not balanced in leading the match tonight and later we will make a report to the match session or PSSI,” said Bojan.

The Course of the Match
The match was very exciting, both teams played openly and launched attacks on each other from the start of the first half. Bali United got opportunity after opportunity but were unable to meet the target.

Persib Bandung, which relies on attacks from the right side of Bali United’s defense, has also not been able to break down the defense of Teco’s men, even though they have a very dangerous front duo between David Da Silva and Ciro Alves.

Bali United, who continued to push Persib Bandung’s defense, got a chance from Privat Mbarga’s speculative kick which was heading towards Persib Bandung’s goal, but was still thwarted by Gustavo Franca in the 23rd minute. Until the first half ended, the score was tied 0-0 for both teams.

The second half had only been running for 2 minutes to be precise in the 47th minute, Bali United managed to break into Persib Bandung’s goal with a header from Rahmat Arjuna.

Starting from a counter-attack by Brandon Wilson, Privat Mbarga fed Privat Mbarga an effect ball with his left foot directing the ball towards the goal, and it was headed well by Rahmat Arjuna, making Persib Bandung goalkeeper Kevin Mendoza fooled so that the temporary score became 1-0.

Persib Bandung got a chance in the 69th minute through a free kick from Gustavo Del Pino, but unfortunately the ball was still narrowly over the Bali United crossbar which was guarded by goalkeeper Adilson Maringa.

Bali United had to play with ten players, Yabes Roni received a red card from the referee after receiving two yellow cards for violating Beckham Putra.

The visiting team Persib Bandung managed to equalize the position at 1-1 in the 90+3 minute through a goal from Gustavo Franca who took advantage of an opportunity from Beckham Putra from the left side of the Bali United defense.
