Proliga 2025 Held January-May, Stopped During Ramadan

Jakarta, Todaysgist.com – The 2025 Proliga volleyball competition is scheduled to take place from January 3 to May 11, 2025. During Ramadan, the competition will be suspended. The 2025 Proliga will continue after Eid al-Fitr.

Proliga 2024 will be held from April to July, because there are elections and Eid al-Fitr. In previous years, Proliga was held from January.

According to Proliga Chairman Hanny S Surkatty, the implementation of Proliga 2025 is different from last year’s competition season. This season, the regular rounds one and two will take place from January 3 to February 23, 2025.

“After that, the competition was stopped during Ramadan and started again after Eid for the final four to the grand final,” said Hanny, Thursday (29/8/2024).

Match final four Proliga 2025 rounds one and two until grand final takes place from April 17, 2025 to May 11, 2025.

According to Hanny, in the competition season which has entered its 23rd year, each team is still allowed to use two foreign players.

“Previously, local and foreign players from each club were allowed to replace one player before the second round, now three local players including two foreign players are allowed before the first round of the final four, which is April 17, 2025,” said Hanny.

Hanny also hopes that the 2025 Proliga schedule will not clash with the international championship schedule, as happened this year.

“We hope there will be no clashing schedules with international ones,” he added.

The participating clubs that will appear in the 2025 Proliga are Jakarta LavAni Allobank Electric, Jakarta STIN BIN, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi, Palembang Bank SumselBabel, Jakarta Pertamina Pertamax, and Jakarta Garuda Jaya. The old team that will return to appear is Surabaya Samator. It is a men’s sector team.

In the women’s division, the teams that will appear are Jakarta BIN, Jakarta Electric PLN, Jakarta Popsivo Polwan, Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Indonesia, Bandung BJB Tandamata, and Jakarta Livin Mandiri.

According to Hanny, registration for Proliga 2025 participants is scheduled no later than October 28, 2025. There are four teams that will sign new contracts, namely Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi, Jakarta STIN BIN for men and another Jakarta BIN women, all three of whom have expired their contracts. Another team, Surabaya Samator, signed a new contract.
